Mastering

The aim of mastering is to translate the mix into a finished product, which is after the job is done, ready for replication, and translates the best on a variety of systems. During mastering, the engineer adjust the mix tonality, stereo picture, loudness (all of course if necessary).
Remember! There are many urban legends that mastering is some kind of black magic, and it’s capable of healing an already bad mix into a stellar sounding product. There are some companies who offers you magic, “big label” sound for your money. This is simply lie.

Why do you need mastering at all? Well, because you may not able to objectively hear your own record, and a fresh ear can spot problems you may miss during the process. Another reason is you may not have the necessary equipment, knowledge and experience to make the right decision what is necessary to do with the record.

At DigiSample you can even choose the online mastering service, so no matter if you live 10000km far from us. If you would like to use our online service, you can register for it via e-mail. After the registration process you will receive a username and a password, so with the help of a ftp client software, you can upload the mix.
When the job is done, we upload the finished product to your account (or we can post it for you).
The online service is the same price as the normal mastering, so you don’t have to pay more for it.
