Mental and physical preparation

Get plenty of sleep before the session.

Wear something comfortable. Can be funny, but if you have long hair, tie it back or ware a hat, etc., so it cannot disturb you during the performance.

Don’t wear anything that’s noisy when you move around. Don’t wear too much jewelry, beleive it or not, it can disturb even yourself after a time.

Always bring some water, soda, etc. with you (possibly non-alcoholic). Keep it cool. If you get tense, relax and breathe.

If you need a little break, then tell us to stop. It’s much better to work with short breaks, than record bad takes for long hours

Don’t forget to have fun! If you’re not having fun, it’s the recipie for a bad take. Anger and tension is the best way to ruin the performance.

Practice, practice, practice! Of course there are some nuance which can be corrected with special techniques, but don’t beleive in fallacious statements like, we can solve everything.

If it’s possible, practice to a click track. Even if you feel that you’re tight, it’s very easy to loose the tempo
